About the Event
RoBurn: A Transformative Gathering of Art, Community, and Self-Expression
RoBurn is a regional Burning Man event held annually in the Romanian landscape. It operates on the ten principles of Burning Man: radical self-expression, self-reliance, gifting, decommodification, participation, immediacy, communal effort, civic responsibility, leaving no trace, and inclusion. This means participants actively contribute to the event, creating a temporary community based on shared experiences and creative expression. The event culminates in the burning a large wooden effigy, a symbolic act of transformation.
Like Burning Man, RoBurn emphasizes self-reliance, which extends to camping. Participants are expected to bring everything they need to survive comfortably in a potentially harsh environment. This includes shelter (tents, RVs, etc.), food, water, and supplies for the duration of the event. No services are provided for basic needs like food vendors or running water.
